CityGro Update: General Data Protection Regulation

This Friday, May 25th the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will go into effect.  That won’t be changing a lot for us here at CityGro since we are and have always been, protective of our clients’ data and security.  In fact, one of our core principles is that we are transparent and this regulation is in line with that principle. We want consumers to know what we do with their data, and most importantly, give them control to correct any false information.

Outlined below are some features that have been updated to ensure GDPR compliance.

NEW CUSTOMER PORTAL – This is a feature that is available for any clients that are in the EU, and it will follow suit for any of our ProPlus packages for anyone outside the EU.  This new portal gives the end customer the ability to log in at any time and access their data. They can update and modify any personal information as well as delete their account.

CUSTOMIZABLE OPT IN SCREENS – This is something that we have always had. But now with our new portal, we have created pre-designed opt-in screens and the ability for business owners to disclose what they intend to do with any data that is captured.

These are the only steps that we have had to take from a consumer end to be compliant. However, we have also taken other steps to update our terms and conditions as well as our policies and procedures to continue to protect your data.  Please email support@citygro.com for any additional questions or concerns.
